STOKER- FILM FOUND A COMPOSER
Clint Mansell is about to compose the music of Stoker-Wentworth's movie-( the one he wrote the script as we all remember). Clint Mansel is one exceptional composer that has given a lot to music industry. One of his very popular film soundtracks is "Lux Aeterna" for Requiem for a Dream.
Clint Mansell, one of my favorite composers, is set to score the upcoming psychological thriller Stoker, Fox Searchlight's new feature that is the English language debut of director Park Chan-wook (Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, Thirst). Chan-wook is finishing up his film now and although it was originally rumored to be at Cannes, it wasn't ready in time. Obviously this is one of the many reasons. Mansell last scored Aronofsky's Black Swan, Faster and Mass Effect 3, plus debuted his album for Massy Tadjedin's Last Night. Read on!
I always love news that Clint Mansell will be scoring something, it means we've got some fantastic music to look forward to. Film Music Reporter adds that "Mansell is currently recording his music for Stoker at Air Studios in London." Tony & Ridley Scott produced Stoker at Scott Free along with Michael Costigan. The very vague plot centers on a teenage girl, played by Mia Wasikowska, who must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle, played by Matthew Goode, following the death of her father. "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller wrote the script under the pseudonym "Ted Foulke". I recently saw Mansell's live concert featuring pieces of almost all of his scores, for many Aronofsky films, and it was fantastic. Such a great body of work and I'm always looking forward to his latest undertakings, like this and hopefully Noah.
Fox Searchlight doesn't have an official release date for Stoker yet, but we can expect it to premiere in the fall during the fall film festival season. We'll definitely be keeping an eye on it and any updates related to it.
